iOS gaming costs can add up, if you buy every major new game right when it comes out. But if you're patient and look for deals like these, you can fill your iOS device with many outstanding, full-length games for free. Check out this week's discounts and get your iOS gaming fix the smart way. Smash Cops One of our favorite games of the year so far, Smash Cops is a fast-paced action game inspired by live police chases. From a helicopter's perspective, you have to control a cop car using one-finger controls. You can ram the perps and flip them over without fear of losing your badge, as long as you don't let them get away. This is a Must Have game, and today it's completely free. Our Score: 4 out of 4 Our Bottom Line: If you've ever wanted to be a TV cop who acts with reckless disregard Read More
Raccoon Rising [99¢] from Romper Games is a delightful game about a sleepy raccoon trying to survive when his forest is invaded by an army of robots and their deforestation machinery. After watching the trailer (below), you might expect an endless-vertical jumping game, as it resembles NinJump [Free/HD]. But, it's actually more like a vertical platform game, because you're not constantly jumping and can find places to stop and plan your approach upwards, through the obstacles. Also, it's level based, so you're not always restarting from the very beginning. The little raccoon's simple story is told through comic-strip cut-scenes as he journeys through four worlds, including a temple, Tanuki forest, a ship called the 'Salty Sprocket' and finally, a city. Each world features different graphics, music, enemies and obstacles, but the goal is always to progress upwards until you reach a gate, which shuts behind you. Each time you reach a Read More

But immediately after my Skyrim outburst and our shared Modern Warfare 3 discussion, we DO dig into iOS. Jurassic Park: The Game leads the foray. Games like Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Space Tripper, as well as news stories including Apple's decision to pull Texas Hold'Em round out the rest of one of our rocking-est podcasts yet. This game has players controlling a ninja raccoon who must rise upward toward the top of each level. He can jump from wall to wall, with the ability to tap and hold to slow down time and charge through objects. He can also dash to the side while in midair.Unlike most ascension platformers, Raccoon Rising is not an endless game; no, this Read More
Whoa, it's Wednesday again. Unfortunately, Brad is still lost to the world of Skyrim, I'm standing on top of a mountain of bodies in MW3, and Jared is, I don't know, watching a Giants game or something. Regardless, we're pulling it all together for this week's pile of game releases. There's some great games out this week too, including a few highly anticipated titles as well as a few surprises… And even some highly anticipated titles we were surprised to see released so soon. Like all weeks, all of these games will be available in the USA at 11:00 PM Eastern, but if you're east of us, chances are they're already released. Age of Zombies Anniversary, 99¢ - Forum Thread - It's Halfbrick's Age of Zombies, but universal and with HD assets for the Retina Display, as well as being universal with full iPad support.
